Storing Your Stuff When You Go To College

Education

stuffThe fall semester is about to begin. You’re leaving home and heading to your college campus. What are you going to do with all of the stuff that you have at home? You probably want to keep it but don’t want to bring it with you to college.

Some of your choices for storing your stuff when you go to college include:

- Leave it with Mom and Dad. A lot of kids just leave their stuff in their old room at home. Mom and Dad are usually fine with keeping it for you. They may ask that you box it up and put it in storage. Make sure you know if this is what they want in advance since you probably don’t want them packing it for you after you leave.

- Leave it with another family member or friend. If you can’t leave your things with Mom and Dad then maybe your grandma or your best friend will let you store some stuff. There are risks to this since you never know whether or not people will care properly for your things but it’s definitely an option.

- Get a self storage unit. This can be expensive. Do some comparison shopping to see whether it’s cheaper to store your things near your parents’ house or near your campus. You may find that there’s a big difference in price between the Avondale storage unit near them and the Allen storage unit near school.

Of course, you could always just take what you really need with you to school and sell off the rest.
